Health and Safety Policy
Turtlestack are committed to the health and safety of all staff and
Turtlestack aim to:
- Prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health
- Provide information and support for staff well being
- Maintain safe and health working conditions
- Review this policy at least annually
- Not let having a H&S policy interfere with common sense.
Roles and responsibilities
Directors
Have overall responsibility for this policy and company health and safety.
Staff
As a staff member you are responsible for ensuring you are familiar with and acting in accordance with this policy.
Staff are expected to take reasonable care of themselves and use common sense. There should be no barrier to speaking about how you feel or anything which concerns you.
Concerns should be raised through the Directors.
Principles
- Have a break, go for a walk, get away from the screen periodically.
- We will endeavour to remind staff they are working to live not living to work.
Practicalities
- Any activity beyond the day-to-day operation - particularly site work - should have a :ref:

risk assessment attached. - We will consult with staff on any emerging H&S situation which may affect them.
- We will provide appropriate PPE as required.
- We will assess the risk profile and failure consequence for all engaged contracts.
- Training will be provided as required.
Workstation Assessment
Given the nature of our work we are likely to spend significant time at a workstation.
- Make sure you are sitting facing your desk; your screen should be approximately an arm’s length away.
- Avoid any clutter under your desk so your legs can be under the desk.
- Ensure your eye line is level with the top of your monitor.
- You should sit right back in your chair and still have a small gap behind your knee with both feet resting comfortably on the - floor.
- Your hips should be equal to or slightly higher than your knees.
- You should have a backrest on your chair that can be adjusted so it moves up and down.
- The lower back support should be comfortable on you back.
- Arms should feel relaxed and forearms should be approximately horizontal.
